Clare Yates
Content Writer
Clare Yates is a financial writer from Lancashire with 15 years’ experience helping people make sense of money matters. After starting out in marketing and PR, she found her passion in 2010 when she became editor of a customer magazine for a leading independent adviser in the equity release industry. Since then, she’s produced a wealth of content on later life finances and everyday financial products.
Clare’s goal is simple: to help people make informed financial decisions by writing clear, honest information they can trust. She enjoys turning complex, jargon-heavy topics into straightforward content readers can relate to and act on. From equity release and pension annuities, to mortgages and credit cards, Clare believes consumers deserve the good, the bad and the ugly – not just the sales pitch – so they can choose what’s right for them.
In addition to creating news pieces, blogs, product information and consumer guides for Compare More and other financial services companies, Clare has also had articles on personal finance published by over 30 news websites. These include MSN, The Scotsman, The Star, National World, The Lancashire Evening Post, Belfast News Letter and Farming Life.
When she’s not writing, Clare can usually be found baking sweet treats with fruit from her garden, or honing her den-building skills in the woods with her husband, two children, and their rescue dog, Toto.
